International Day of Mathematics

To celebrate the beauty of mathematics and to highlight its importance, UNESCO declared March 14 as the International Day of Mathematics in November 2019. This day is already recognized as Pi Day in many countries, named after the significant number π, the ratio of the circumference of a circle to its diameter, which is approximately 3.14.

All over the world, fascinating events and exciting lectures are held or creative ideas are explored on that day. The first International Day of Mathematics 2020 was themed "Mathematics is Everywhere" to illustrate how mathematics plays a role in almost all areas of life. The theme for 2021 is Mathematics for a better world
